Faalor, a Neverwinter Nights Campaign World
My online name is Balaern or Bala (the name stuck from UO,
Catskills shard, where I played Balaern'sus, a fairly
well-known Drow elf who liked to smile a lot), but you're free
call me by my real name: Lee.
I've been playing AD&D since Spring Break of 1980 when
I was in the 9th grade. I don't think I'll ever forget that
game. We played the old Keep on the Borderlands module (I
still have that thing around here some place) and the group
needed a magic-user. I doubted they really had much use for a
1-hp mage with 4 darts to his name and could only cast Jump.
Since that time, I've run 6 or 7 long-term AD&D
campaigns, and played in another 10-20. I've been part
of a few White
Wolf 's World of Darkness (Vampire, Werewolf, etc.),
GURPS and even played a couple Twilight 2000 campaigns (now
THAT was a harsh game world!). In 1998, my wife got me
Ultima Online for my birthday and I played that for nearly
five years. At first, I played like most everyone else I
knew did, PKing and NPKing. Until my PK group ran across
the Shadow Clan orcs on Catskills. From then on, I was
hopeless hooked on RP, despite all the foolishness. I
ran a quaint little Drow guild after being kicked from one of
the "premier" "RP" guilds on the shard and
Qu'ellar
Vlos Ilhar lasted for a number of years until I
couldn't take it any more. Then I did a little stint running
a non-guild for "Independent"
dark elves before discovering my true calling in the bsetest
rp guilt eva!!1111. About that time, NWN was
announced and I just couldn't justify playing UO anymore!
Since 2001, I've been running Faalor campaigns using
NWN1. This will probably be the final campaign before we
switch over to Neverwinter Nights 2.
